I have always been an avid reader. My favorite books are ones that leave me with something to implement in my life to help me be a little bit better. Better in my communication, relationships, habits, health, work, even just a little bit, can make a big difference year after year.
Here are 5 books I highly recommend to anyone looking to improve in any area of life. Good reads, with a lot of ideas and stories that will stay with you.
- Atomic Habits by James Cleary.
Tiny Habits, Remarkable Results. Atomic Habits provides a practical and proven framework for creating good habits and shedding bad ones. Drawing on scientific research and real-life examples, it shows how tiny changes in behavior can result in the formation of new habits and help you achieve big things.
Although I prefer a book in my hands, I first listened to this on Audible and then had to purchase the book so I could capture all the a ha’s in my traditional postcard style (saved for easy reference). His philosophy of repetition vs perfection taught me to celebrate the smallest of wins in building new habits and breaking old ones. If you are looking to shore up some new habits and let go of the old. I highly recommend this book. I’m a firm believer that if you are not growing, you are dying.
2. The High Five Habit by Mel Robbins.
The High 5 Habit offers a startling proposition: A single change to your morning routine can help upend your outmoded, self-limiting attitudes and kick your life into top gear. Interwoven with personal anecdotes and scientific research, this blueprint for life transformation makes self-improvement seem easier than ever.
There isn’t a person I know who shouldn’t read this book. I loved it so much I loaned it out. Time to ask for it’s return so I can re-read it. LOVE this book!
3. The Little Book of Game Changers by Jessica Cording
You’ll find 50 Healthy Habits for Managing Stress Anxiety in The Little Book of Game Changers. Dietician and health coach Jessica Cording provides anyone burdened with stress and anxiety with the encouragement to make life-changing improvements one small step at a time.

4. The Business of the 21st Century by Robert Kiyosaki
The Business of the 21st Century explains the revolutionary business of network marketing in context of what makes any business a success in any economic situation.
Gosh I’m glad I read this book over and over! 2020 & 2021 have shown us what Robert Kiyosaki has been telling us for years. The way for you to have a genuinely secure future is for you to take control of that future. There is no longer such a thing as a safe and secure job. Things have changed, our world has changed so quickly and yes, you can design a future that is not left in someone else’s hands. Again, I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t benefit from reading this book.
5. To The Women by Donna Ashworth.
Donna speaks to all women with her words of comfort and inspiration – you can see her words winging their way around the internet on a daily basis bringing women together from all walks fo life. To The Women is a short book of poems & essays, reminding us that life is for living, that our grey hairs, lines & wrinkles tell the stories of our lives, & that, as women, we are stronger than we think.
This book was gifted to me and what an an incredible daily read that just speaks softly to my soul. It’s filled with all the things we think and feel as women and sometimes feel guilty about, try to push down and just plain ignore. It’s reminders to live life being gracious, wise, with our eyes wide open all while being kind and giving grace to ourselves. Gift this to every women in your life. I promise it’s profound.
